Kalimantan Institute of Technology achieved Best Mechanics in the Joints Game Jam Competitions held by Gajah Mada University. This success was achieved by the Ouroboros Technologies Team consisting of Andrew Arief Riyadi IF '21, Fachry Azaria Pradipta IF '21, and Felix Dean Janitra IF '21 under the guidance of Nur Fajri Azhar, M.Kom., CIISA.
To prepare for the competition, the first step was to register carefully and understand all competition rules, including date, theme, duration, and assessment criteria. Next, they formed teams, came up with game ideas that were interesting, innovative, and fit the theme, and determined the platforms and tools to be used. The process also involved preparing the assets and resources needed, as well as creating a realistic game development plan, considering time constraints and team size.
ITK's innovation is the Wizard Legacy Grand Tower Game. The game tells the story of a wizard who struggles to protect a tower from the attack of Dragons and mobs that attack the wizard. Players must extinguish the fire that burns the tower, avoid mob attacks, and eventually face the Dragon in several waves of battle until reaching the boss wave. Successfully surviving each wave is the key to defeating the Dragon.
Andrew said, "I would like to remind myself and my colleagues that this competition is the beginning of a long journey in developing great works. Don't hesitate to participate in this kind of creative activity and keep innovating."
